trying to find my first air-cooled car, would like some help assessing the value of one im looking at:
its a 90 C2 coupe with 100k miles and a good repaint. the engine was resealed at 85k miles (in 2003, 2 owners ago) as the car wouldn't idle well, by someone called star motors in missouri - looks like camshafts, rocker shafts and rocker arms were replaced at this time. right rear has been repaired at some point.
The interior is 7/10ish and all stock - one bolster on drivers seat needs reupholstering and the headliner could use some glue in a couple spots. a few other minor cosmetic things that need addressing including gauge refinishing, and the AC doesnt work. Current owner has the previous owners records going back to 2003ish. Bilsteins, some kind of sport exhaust and a cat bypass were installed at some point prior to this. car comes with 17" boxter twists, and brake pads are at like 75%.
my PPI shows only oil seepage from the oil cooler and slight seepage from cylinder barrels. car starts and pulls well with no smoke, and there are no oil spots in the current owners garage. current owner replaced the oil lines when he bought it in 2010.
