1973 914 value

I'm looking at a pretty solid 914. A little right dogleg rust, paint is original but spot painted, not in very good shape really but a wet sand and buff may go a long ways to making it look nicer. A few dings easily dealt with by a paintless dent guy. Older 2.0 swap with injection intact. Interior probably a 7, exterior a 6ish. Runs well, shifts well, brakes need to be gone through. Owner says new rotors and rebuilt calipers 3-4 years back. New windscreen and rubber seals are decent, some newer. Needs alignment, may need some suspension work but tracked well, solid feeling. With a weekends work could be a decent driver. I'll get it on a lift this weekend and get compression numbers and really make sure no more rust.

Thoughts? I'm in the $7k range, he's thinking $8,500. All the damn 914 is the next collector car articles are not helping me :-)

Thanks,
Jerry
