Jeff. My scissor weighs about 900lbs. It has wheels and the pump makes a dolly, so you can roll it around a bit, but no you aren't going to store it anywhere but on the ground.
Mine will go 4 ft up, but the car hits the ceiling before it gets that high.
Depending on ground clearance, you have to drive up on planks, or if you know it's permanent you can make a 6" deep pit and place the lift in there.
If I owned this house I would put it in a pit, but for now the ramps aren't bad. I need to find their permanent spot and bolt them down.
