Your daughter is correct. And you should take her feelings into account, because I will tell you - if you sell now, and regret it later, getting back in might cost you more than you want to spend.
IF, and I say IF you want to get top dollar, get that seat fixed or replaced, pronto. If it were my car, I'd do it just because I wouldn't be able to look at it.
I think that asking in the high thirties is not out of place. Especially if you take care of the cosmetic niggles. But if it were me, I wouldn't sell it. Unless you need to put food on the table, a stack of Benjamins won't make your daughter smile. Do you enjoy driving it? If so, DRIVE it. If not, fix the minor issues, then ask top dollar, then wait for the near top dollar.
