Not sure how long you've been into the hobby/Porsche but the race cars have historically been disproportionately higher than others.

Of course there was a time when the cost of an old Porsche race car was equal to that of new street car..dependent upon what the race car was. Your decision was then do I want a nice shiny new Porsche, or a well worn Porsche race car? Of course there were others that were always more expensive.. and thy have all continued to rise. The cars you mention, are all $1M+ cars now.. and had been $3 - $700k cars for years depending on state of condition.

You cant find many for sale because they usually change hands privately, through the vintage racing community or at auction. A very good friend of mine owned several of these cars, he passed away, and the cars were eventually auctioned during the 2012 Monterrey speed week. All brought big dollars, as they do.
