1991 964 smoking dilema help
ok I took all my plugs out well the top ones, they are realy dry and tan colored no oily residue at all. put them back on the car warmed the car up took only the top plugs out again and performed a compression test. the results were #1@ 190 #2 @ 195 #3 @192 #4@ 195#5 @195#6 @192. when my car gets to normal operating temp it starts to smoke some from the exhaust bluish. I did notice that when I took the tube from the rear mounted fan that goes downwards to somewhere there is smoke coming from there as well. my question is since my car does have some oil leaks and even though I did steam clean it a while back,is it possible or has anybody had oil actually make its way into the heat exchangers and possibly cause this. this car does not not smoke at initial start up. it was parked for 3.5 years at one point of its life. could it be valve stem seals? wouldn't valve stem seals cause initial start oil smoke puffs? give me your experiences on this matter please. what would a valve stem seal cost now a days if this would be the case? thanks in advance for your help guys
