A real 3.0 Carrera engine is worth as much, if not more, than the '77 chassis as a perfect roller with everything there except the engine.
Personally, I would skip the flares. But otherwise I would do the swap if I had the engine. And keep the numbers matching case in the corner for if I ever wanted to sell it.
That said, I think these,"What will it be worth after I do it?" threads are misguided. If you want to build a hot rod build a hot rod. If you want to invest in a collector quality car, then do that. They are generally not the same thing, and rarely, if ever, will be.
