What "similar semi collectible cars" are we talking about? If you're talking the American muscle car bubble, there is a huge difference. Those cars were built in the hundreds of thousands. Air cooled 911s were build if far far less quantities.
There have been people claiming the 356 bubble burst. Good luck finding one. I have been looking for one myself and they definitely have not dropped in value. Air cooled 911s are not going down any time soon barring some sort of economic crash etc.
