A lot of the cardiac issues attributed to weight lifting involved routines with nearly no cardio exercise and white fish/chicken based diets lacking in fatty acids/aminos vital for cardiovascular health.
Obviously, there are exceptions, that's just life. Heck, it's not uncommon to hear of ultra-marathon runners, people in absolute peak physical condition, just dropping dead one day.
Besides, we've all got to go one day....

i'd love to see that study.
the issue isn't the diet, so much, it is the extreme strain placed on the blood vessels of the heart, leading to premature failure of those vessels.
