The modern conception is trending further and further away from this. Without existing conditions or predispositions, heavy lifting, combined with proper cardio and a decent diet, is proving to be a pretty solid lifestyle. There's a recent study showing that muscle mass is a good indicator of longevity.
A lot of the cardiac issues attributed to weight lifting involved routines with nearly no cardio exercise and white fish/chicken based diets lacking in fatty acids/aminos vital for cardiovascular health.

Obviously, there are exceptions, that's just life. Heck, it's not uncommon to hear of ultra-marathon runners, people in absolute peak physical condition, just dropping dead one day.

Besides, we've all got to go one day....

My Grandmother had three brothers. One was into the healthy lifestyle thing even way back then. That was back when everything was fried in lard, etc. He demanded his food be prepared without all that extra fat and salt, etc. He wasn't vegitarian just demanded his food prepared like we consider much more healthy today. Remember hearing about his two brothers teasing him about his "special diet" and exercising. Never met him, he died in his 40's before I was borned. Don't know what he died from, they didn't talk about details, but it was a health issue like a heart attack. His two brothers lived into their 90's. One of them was even a cancer survivor from the 50's.

No ice storm is good. Last ice storm we had my cottonwood poked a hole in the roof. Hopefully the trimming done this past spring will keep THAT from happening again, for a while anyway.

Sweat some pipes and got the new Samsung washer/dryer installed last night.

The spin cycle literally had the washer bouncing off the walls and almost broke the pipe off... Back to the drawing board.

Yea, the rubber hoses used for most installations really make sense. We have the rubber hoses with steel braided covers. One friend of mine has had a burst hose on two occasions. He changes out the braided rubber hoses every two years. I have never understood why washers are not built over a floor drain in a tub like a shower drain. Cost I guess but how much more would it cost to do while the house is under construction?

We have a fairly new washing machine and when we move we are leaving it here, Beth wanted a front loader, yeah I detest that thing. It's like that damn side by side fridge she had to have, that thing sucks too

Oh yes, this is a front loader... I've just never experienced a spin cycle cause the machine to dance. Glad we were home and we're able to prevent our new $65k kitchen from becoming a swimming pool.

I'd be interested to find out what RPm the drum was spinning, I'm 6'2" 215 and tried to pull it away from the wall whilst mid-dance, and it was not compliant.

Non compliant appliances are the worst.
Well it looks like Beth is going to be able to cannonball with me. I just have to get a trustworthy person to come by twice a day and give my little kitty his meds.
