My bet is the wind / local air flow did him in. It depends on where you are, but it can be very unpredictable. When I hunt in mountain terrain, I pay attention to the local drafts and breezes to stay down wind from any game and it is amazing how quickly the wind can radically change direction and intensity. (Usually to the advantage of the game!).
I also agree with the rest of you that the safety equipment was sub-par. This is track day level safety. Open face helmet ... and nothing against Crow harnesses, they are just as good as any, I use them, but they are the least expensive harness out there. Likely these guys did the stunt on a budget.
The guy looks VERY scared before starting to drive. He should listen to his fear next time. Fear is what keeps you alive, IMHO.
