Instrument Cluster

My 2001 330i displayed the battery light and my car would not start. I also noticed that the B+ jumper connection was getting very hot as evidenced by the melted cover and pieces of metal weld at the connection point. I replaced the B+ jumper connector and changed the battery but the instrument cluster does not work --> only the the check lights for airbag and ABS light up when I turn the ignition switch to ON or Ignition position. I checked the fuses (F10, F34, and F43) and has power passing through them. I also checked the Alternator output with load (headlights and AC) and it was 14.01 volts. Where could the problem be? I don't know how to proceed. Please advice, anyone?
