ok so ive been looking for a 944 for a while and finally found a turbo in my price range so I looked at it. it seemed to run fine and although there were some cosmetic imperfections, i thought all would be well. fast forward to when i have to bring it home and about 20 mins into my journey, my tire shreds. it looked like someone took a knife to the sidewall and just cut the tire off. when i finally got it towed home, i attempted to put the spare on and i wasnt exactly sure if it was supposed to fit on the back tire because it seemed to be very close to the caliper. anyway after i had very mediocrely put on the rear tire (did not put it on all the way), it looked as if the tire were pointing inward. could this be an extreme alignment problem which caused my tire to shred? i dont think the axle is bent because it didnt seem to ride weird. could this be the tires dry rotting and just disintigrationg with the highway speed i was going. Really not sure and hoping i dont get burned on this.
