Gas holes tops of pistons

Windsor 302
Nephew already bought pistons for his wana be lil cruiser car (1962 Comet ) KOOL !
He has most the stuff to make it a real fun engine for .
Cam, manifold , .011 decked block, 60 CC AL heads with 202 valves and all.
SO
I was trying hard to adjust the drag of oil rings on these so called "performance pistons".
Come to find out after much frustration they are just hyper pistons with a moly skirt.
They fit nice-
BUT he has standard go to twn Aunt Tilly grocery getter rings !
OK, cant send pistons back. Cant allow 40 pound drag rings in there either!
Is it a BIG trick to drill tops for gas operated low drag piston rings ?
This does not look like a magic trick.
OR should i just send them out, to where, for some holes ?
Your opinion?
thanx
