Valuation questions: early drivetrains
Hello,
I currently have a 2.2 w/ weber 40 carbs out of a '71 911, mated to a type 911 4-speed in my car. My car happens to be a '74, and has 930 bodywork, so not much original about it. I plan to swap out the motor for a larger one, and get a 915 w/ LSD, and I'm on the fence about what to do with the old motor and transmission. With the prices of long hood 911's being so high, is it to the point where I could trade it on a 3.2, 3.3 or 3.6 and offset the cost quite a bit, or am I better off leaving it on the shelf in my garage and keeping it for the day when I decide to do something stupid like turn up the boost on a new motor?
Mileage is unknown, but it's a strong runner and the crabs are well tuned.
