Got the car up in the air. The shift rod has a bend at one end. I placed the bend forward towards the transmission. The guibo rubs the rod in second gear. I will reverse the shift rod so the bend is at the rear and hopefully will provide the clearance needed.
The pictures on the DYI show it forward. My bad for not taking pictures before tearing it apart. Never to old to learn.
