The biggest thing I see is that the car is close enough to original that you should really spend the time and money replacing all the non-stock stuff and get that transmission sorted. I wouldn't address the rust bubbling, but if you're selling definitely point it out to interested buyers.

Based on the Hagerty valuation tool, a condition 1 '72E is $145k for a condition 1 and $104k for a condition 2 car. If your car is as described, I'd put it somewhere in there condition-wise after putting all the stock stuff back on it (closer to a 1 - but I haven't seen the car).
The valuation tool is a rough idea... There are a lot of factors that come into play with our old cars. The biggest factors in the case of your car - aside from actual condition - are the rarity of the color and transmission. If somebody has to have a pink '72 sporto, I think you could name your price. But the car will have to be perfect.
I am decently educated on this car and its provenance and have an idea what it is worth.

This Pelican community however has an INSANE amount of knowledge i can draw from, so was hoping for some feedback to see if the public's expectations are in line with my own.

As far as im concerned regarding color, the interior is mint and black and the mechanical condition is excellent so anyone could change exterior color at any time. For me , the color is original and i would never change it.

The transmission is an entirely different issue, with some people refusing to drive sporto's.. others find them fun. Never mind the confirmed issue there is inside of it with not a lot of people able to work on these things. ( At least where i live )

Any feedback from the community is very much appreciated but the point of my post is to determine how desirable this car really is and what people here think a fair market value would be based on all the factors.
