Thanks all who responded, and sorry for the hyjack. In different lighting it changes quite a bit so it is similar to other colors. Others have also mentioned royal Purple. When I bought it from Checkered Flag international in Marina Del Ray over a decade ago it was "Aubergine" in their estimation. Interesting that a past president of the local Porsche club remembered the car from when he was in grad school in LA circa 1980 of it being a street racer at that time.
It remains original unrestored since then except the hood and rear deck paint repair due to when I got it it had the turbo Carrera script and the Porsche badge removed. Since the Andial Brand is now owned by Porsche I thought it appropriate to put the original badging back on. The two different restoration shops both had fits getting the color to be good as I demanded a panel paint and not to blend into the adjoining panels to keep the paint original as possible to the rest of the car.
Too much to list but some that come to mind are titanium BBS 8" front & 10"rears and is fully modified underneath with weltmeister adjustable suspension, 2 additional oil coolers, vented 935 style brakes, early short bellhousing RUF 5spd and full race internals done by the Andial people and some aluminum body panels when builders still built street modded cars for clients that wanted their 930s to be, drive and stop way faster than the regular ones. Andial rebuilt the motor again about 10K miles ago, shortly before I bought it, so it still preforms like when it was built decades ago.
I'll most likely never get a street 934 so this is it for me, the next best thing, a extensively vintage modded 1977 930, but built over here.
