I started on a big print job on Friday. I was going to finish up printing the four 5x8 foot prints today. I knew the order was coming in eventually but it is a university and they had to have a few dozen meeting to figure out what size and how many of each size print they wanted. I ordered a roll of 60 inch wide by 100 foot long roll of paper back in late October. It arrived weeks ago. I went to load it on the printer and the dang roll is wound inside out! WFT.

Really the print side is on the inside. I have never ever seen a roll wound like that. I can't load it on our printer, the paper path is not designed to work that way. Of course our client is expecting to pick up the order today. Now I get to call them and tell them next week. I don't know if out supplier can get us a roll by Wednesday. We are closed on Thursday and Friday and I bet the customer is as well. Oh well. I hope my client is not too upset.

You'd think print medium companies would pull their heads out of their asses.... My parents have switched to a different vinyl supplier for most of their stuff over stupid stuff like that. In most colors they only order a 10yd roll, which all suppliers offer. Some suppliers get 10yd rolls direct from the manufacturers, some try to cut it off the 50yd rolls to save a buck. Well the ones that cut it off must roll it across the warehouse floor because it's always dusty when they do that. Can't have dust on something that goes through the printer. At best it ruins the print, at worst you crash a head!
