Hi - I picked up a Carrera tail & lid but noticed cracks at the 2 corner mounting points. This is where the rear of the base mates to the lid. (Pic of the worst one below). I have zero FG experience.
Can this be repaired? The metal tab flexes somewhat. Should the underside (hidden) be re-enforced, or should I just treat the mating surface with something like a gel coat and use a metal backer instead of the speed nut. I searched for some repair info on stressed area but no luck. Any tips would be appreciated.
I do intend to have it sprayed to match the car.
