Rear Spoiler base repair

Hi - I picked up a Carrera tail & lid but noticed cracks at the 2 corner mounting points. This is where the rear of the base mates to the lid. (Pic of the worst one below). I have zero FG experience.

Can this be repaired? The metal tab flexes somewhat. Should the underside (hidden) be re-enforced, or should I just treat the mating surface with something like a gel coat and use a metal backer instead of the speed nut. I searched for some repair info on stressed area but no luck. Any tips would be appreciated.

I do intend to have it sprayed to match the car.

Thanks

Another pic as a reference - before I removed the seal and nut - I'm talking about the hole in the upper L&R hand corners.

if it's mounted properly there should be no reason for one mounting point having flex to it .
all you have to do is repair the two areas and paint and mount it on your car .

Thanks - I already knew it needed repairing.
I was hoping to get some help to see if it was this something I can do myself - like removing the broken bits and re-gelcoating - or did it warrant something stronger given the flange thickness (or lack thereof).

This repair can easily be done yourself. Use the SMC fiberglass resin and fiberglass cloth. just reinforcement the back edge with another layer at the mount points

Thanks - You're the first person to call it SMC - I suspected this was the stuff but I've been baffled over the wide range of products out there all saying that they were compatible with SMC (polyester, urethane, and epoxy based resins). Throw in the adhesives, fillers, and combination products - and I got stuck. A friend recommended the 3m panel adhesive - so I may get off the pot and try that.

it's not a SMC .
smc is a plastic infused with fiber strands mostly use is fiberglass .
just as you can not repair SMC with fiberglass products you can not repair fiberglass with SMC products .
the porsche tails are simple made from polyester resin and fiber glass matting materials .

you repair fiberglass with like products . things like panel adhesives will not give you a lasting repair . just as trying SMC will not .

This isn't traditional fiberglass and is much closer to SMC.
It was molded, is Porsche original, fabbed by Fibron - I think you're talking about earlier tails made of resin and matting.

so what your saying to a shop owner were we repair on a average of 3 porsche tails a week that this tail you have is different from all the other tails porsche produced .
no it's not closer to SMC in fact it's polyester resin and chopped glass sprayed into a mold .
one of my businesses is producing composite parts panels complete car bodies and repairing them .

this front clam is SMC and nothing like what you have produced in a different manner.

this 34' carbon fiber boat we built is all 100% carbon

this nose we make is made from fiberglass it's also offered in carbonfiber .

this lip spoiler we make is also offered in fiberglass and carbon .

this plug for the mold we are making is being built out of fiberglass we will then make the mold out of FG to make the parts out of carbon fiber.

this is just one style of wing we produce . the mold is made from FG and the wings are offered in CF or FG .

NO the porsche tails are all made from the same polyester resin and chopped glass sprayed into a mold !
if you do a repair using a SMC products you will not have a listing repair .
if your set on using a SMC product on polyester you will be doing it again with in 5 years .
