Have you considered Caribbean or Hawaii?
I'm pretty adventurous and robust, as a kid used to run down to Mexico to party and bring back a case of tequila... but reports I'm hearing out of Mexico lately seem no bueno.
That and it is no longer the travel bargain it used to be...
I went on a Mexico cruise a few years back... beautiful country but the poverty is a bit depressing when you are trying enjoy a vacation.
But some people still love it.
