It’s a 915/68 from an 84 Carrera. All the sought after shaft and bearing improvements by Porsche and a better OEM set of gear ratios than the earlier 915s. Aluminum of course. 8:31 does not have LSD. Originally came with an '84 Carrera.

I did the rebuild in 2014 and did it in total overkill mode. New Synchros, bands, anything that even looked like it had wear was replaced with new OEM. Turns out, a lot of people were happy to buy the stuff in my “reject” bin if that gives you any indication of how overboard I went with it.
Shifts perfectly, doesn’t leak at all, and is practically a brand new unit. Other than the 1300 miles I put on it enjoying how great it is of course.
Reasons for sale are not mechanically related. Just life related.
