cam metal looks like it was full of airbubbles
when I got a core motor to rebuild for a 455ho gto
the cam had wiped out two lobes
but they were wore down WITHOUT PITS OR HOLES
i WOULD E-MAIL THOSE PIC'S TO THE CORPS REP
a bad casting with tooo much air intrained prior to machining is my guess
