We have made coupler bushes in Delrin for about 8 years now as they always seemed a good idea and have less stiction than a standard bush.
We made the gear lever bush in Delrin and attach it to the lever with a snap ring and the same for the shift rod support held in place with a simple locking ring.
Using hard plastic eliminates the need for grease and it doesn't gum up.
