We only paid around 28,000 for a 60k 1998 tip cabriolet, that was sitting on a BMW dealership lot. It is a super clean car that is loaded with options. If it were a coupe six speed it would probably halve been mid 40's The market share for tips is a small percentage, and thus they are hard to sell. We bought our 993 tip for my girlfriend, but after driving it a few times, I bought it from her for a touring car. We have three other manual 5 and six speed 911s though, so I enjoy not having to work the clutch in traffic once in a while.
