Just remember you don’t have to solve the problem right now. Start collecting parts needed from all these guys that want to help you out and then tear into it when time/money allow. I shelve stuff all the time and come back later when appetite returns. Tossing/selling stuff is a knee jerk reaction to a frustrating situation. I tend to regret those. On the other hand I’ve picked up some good deals when the seller is “done”.

I'm near overwhelmed by all of this - just wow
FRANK! txmeng!!! Rich... superhelpful, good sir! Kevin / Andy / Tony... damn my man(s)... waybeyond cool... Chris... UDAMAN, man. Appreciate the texts / emails Nocarrier / Ken / Alan / anyone I've missed (sorry!)... thank you so much too! Wife being supremely supportive of the 'keep it' concept, but only w/in a reasonable range. Short story long... if I could get rebuild down to what my f'n @#$%^&* daily needs in repairs currently then I'd broom that instead pick up a beater and more daily rock the 930 (as many others here do - I'm @ a point in my life where I actually COULD do such lol?). The DIY angle w/ say Jakester & Rich could well be an option... buuuut have to figure out CT / NJ / PA logistics and realistic timing. Brad was 1st to offer, but he's in... GA. Add flights / hotels... argh. Dunno yet tho - it is verrrrymuch still quite a stretch. Will see. Whatever the result - once again, Kenny said it best - proud to run w/ you all, some seriously amazing peeps we're fortunate enough to surround ourselves with. THANK YOU ALL Last edited by krasuskyp; 03-19-2020 at 08:49 PM.. |

Man, I really feel bad about this. Paul, your timing sucks in that I recently sold my toasted motor. I would have easily parted with what you may need had that not been the case, given what many others and you in particular have done for me. All I have left are external things like mufflers, turbos, intercoolers, a WUR, headlamps, rear brake calipers, cams, stuff like that that won't get your motor back in shape. Crap...

Hey Mark...may I suggest for you to set up a fund for Paulie's 930 engine rebuild via YouCaring.com? Paulie did the same for you and most of us gladly contributed to this including me. If you set it up I'll contribute $100 to Paul's fund for engine rebuild.
PaulK...we do want to help you out and hate to see one of us being down in the dumps. We are pulling for you!! Edit: For those of you who were out of the loop or new here...check this out which Paul put together over 6 years ago. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-930-turbo-super-charging-forum/794490-marks-930-thon-please-read-please-help.html

Paul, I haven't logged onto this site for some time. As we talked on the phone, this Covid-19 crap has everyone in a holding pattern. ( ****ty time to sell a car.. my way of saying KEEP THE CAR!!) and the perfect time to start getting the pieces together. As you eluded to in a previous post, I ain't that far away. I can make the trip with my car, and stay for a few days. Once everything is there, we can get the engine built and back in the car in a few days time. If there is anything else I can help out with, call me!!! I do not think I have any engine parts left from over the years, but if I do, they are yours ( I will look over this weekend).
I know you know your pockets better than anyone here, and as others said, this place would not be the same without you. Lets kick ass and take names!!!

Hi Paul: Put the car in the corner, pick away at the parts list. You wont regret it. Dont sell. I am 60. I have a poster in the garage of a silver 930 that my Mom gave me in the early 80,s. It is still hanging in my garage. 2 months ago I finally realized my dream in purchasing an 84 930. I had bought a 84 drive train 8 years ago and now I have the car. It was a 40 year wait. My kids although older love it and now will be the question to see who gets the 930 or the carrera. You will regret selling and your kids will appreciate the fact that Dad kept the car. Rome was not built in a week. Goodluck with the car. A day at a time. Thanks Rob. 7

Brad man, it's friends like you met here that make this place and my life so special and fortunate. I'm proud and honored to be amongst you all (sorry Kenny sorta stealin yer phrasiology). Just damn my friend - damn! Impressive.
To all of you, THANK YOU for your words of encouragement and support. Those prob did help influence decisions... never thought would be noticed if I disappeared lol. Good to know. Yabastids! So, yeah - decision is... currently muddling way thru rebuild options / logistics but the car is no longer on market (like there was one nowadaze - tho a clean 'rodded M491 just hit $90k's on BaT?). I feel like a General Contractor, no joke - this will be quite the undertaking. Trying to keep it affordable but sensible, with the goal of driving it more (errrr... anyone wanna buy a '08 M3 6gang vert???), least for the short term. 3x college in 2yrs... dunno, oy. Anywho... you guys rock / rule. >>>queue "I love you guys"<<< (no'Kneeshomo). Last edited by krasuskyp; 04-20-2020 at 06:16 PM.. |

My 6-4" nephew is a recruited baseball pitcher in his freshman there (or would be there but for the virus). Beautiful campus- we dropped him off last fall when we visited one of my sons at nearby SUNY Polytechnic. Let me know if you'd like him to haze your son and I'll put in the word.

And heh, yes - def give him my last name and have him randomly mess w/ mah boy (if/when they ever get there, ugh)!!! Too funny. awesome your boy goin to Polytech! He's got your talent

Paul, it is not the end of the world - close thou..
About five years ago something similar occurred to me; went to Barber for a track event and all went good lots of fun, as always, left the track stopped to put gas in the car, all good, left the gas station and a block later the popcorn smell, smoke of different colors, lots of funny noise and the car just died by the road... after the trauma and to make the story short I found out that the issue was a cooked engine harness. Sooooo, take that engine down and play with it, it might be simpler than you think. DON'T SALE THE CAR! think memories...Dragon...do it again...t-palloza… The kids will grow up and go away, and there you'll be a "nice dad" that once upon a time had a nice 930.
