Yeah, I saw this the other day, awesome tooling! I especially like the threaded/removable oil galley plugs. Lot of nice details here! Given what it is.. price not really outrageous.
Hmm.. wonder what this does to the price of the couple of 3.2/3.3 blank factory replacement cases I have on the shelf?

I hope we see more of these aftermarket engine parts for our cars, I was so ashamed of myself when I paid $8500 for a rebuilt 3.2 engine with harness, exhaust, and DME a few years ago, now that same setup would cost north of $25K which is ridiculously expensive. I think if the aftermarket industry come up with things like engine cases, crankshafts, transmissions, etc they would do very well with the current demand and prices.

That looks like it is the case produced by Noonan. Very high quality product available from a few sources/vendors.
Reasonably priced. Thankfully someone got a billet case done that did not go down the same road as the one the clown Adam tried to produce....

I've been hearing about the Noonan case for a few years, good to see it seems to have caught on and respected vendors are now stocking it.

Correct -- made by Noonan, and we're working with them on complementary products for the engine.
We agree that the price is very fair when compared to the cost of purchasing a used 3.6 case and having it fully refurbished back to factory specs. Do we wish it cost less and also have availability for the 3.0/3.2/3.3 market? Of course, and that's a market segment Porsche themselves *should* be fulfilling but isn't. Others are working on it, however, and are likely to come in at a lower cost than Porsche's "found" engine cases were (~$8800/ea), and with better quality than the current factory castings (leaky). Until then, the Noonan case is ideal for big power and/or big displacement builds.
