Basically for me to buy "1 NJP" which is my initials was nearly as much as I paid for my first 911, my '83 3.2 carrera sport coupe eight years ago. Anyway, I didn't buy the plate but I did buy the 911

I watched a show on the "Cherished Numbers" UK plate auction - some
SERIOUS cost involved in most of those!

Number system here is funny.
first letters are city area,
for example
B= Berlin, M=Munich and sure S=Stuttgart
next letters are more or less free of choice
but limited in combinations. Who knows why...
Numbers are more or less free of choice.

In case you ask for any free number you would like,
you pay these 25$.

The most wanted Stuttgart plate is:
S-EX 911.

I am often in Latvia, Baltic.
They have a system you can choose ANY numbers or letters.
Around 1000$.
Everything is possible, only limited to lenght.
No problem to have simply "Porsche"
or "Porsche 930" or "930" there.
Sure, if the number is not in use already.

Falk
