Yes he has. I was interested to see what my guesstimates did to the AFR.

Should we be running The 02 sensor hooked back up with the UT cis PT on a C 2 turbo?

I was intending to fit an O2 sensor to my car's exhaust, just to aid the tuning - there isn't a feedback loop to the UTCIS. (It's either a gauge and run on the road/track, or spend $million$ on a Dyno.) Since your 964 will have come with the sensor, shouldn't this be easy for you?!

Your sensor on the 964t has nothing to do with the wur. The utcis replaces the wur.
If you get the utcis tuned in properly you shouldn't have any need for the sensor. While tuning the utcis you will need to have the sensor unplugged.

I had my car on the track 6 days last week and it runs better than ever. Before I heard about the UT-CIS, I was worried that I might miss this season. Thanks again to the folks on this thread and the UT team for helping sort out my fuel management issues!
One of the guys from Unwired Tools is meeting me at the track in a few weeks to go for a joy ride. They seem to be very happy that this product has successfully solved a problem that has plagued high performance 930s for decades. Their new software is very nice. I hope to install the O2 sensor option soon to check my AFRs while on the track. I don't have any new dyno data to share. I have been tuning by feel. The earlier comments in this thread are correct. Once your map is set correctly, you are finished - no reason to check AFRs again. I'm stilling experimenting to determine how weather conditions and different fuel types affect my AFRs.

Tuning by feel.
Have you ever checked the AFRs - ever?

I have checked the AFRs 3 times on the dyno this season and posted much of the results on this thread. A few areas needed more fuel so I dropped the control pressure (a lot) in those RPM ranges. When the mixture seemed rich on the track, I slightly increased CP until I achieved peak performance.
The AFRs from the dyno are great at getting you in the ballpark, but I needed to do some fine tuning on the track. Since I don't have an AFR gauge in my car yet, this was the best method that I could come up with.

We need pictures...........I see next to zero on this topic.

Thanks! This has been a learning process. This time last year, I did not understand CIS or how a turbo affects manifold pressure. I read two books that helped a great deal: How to Understand, Service and Modify Bosch Fuel Injection & Engine Management by Charles O Probst and Maximum Boost - Designing, Testing and Installing Turbocharger Systems by Corky Bell.
This thread already contains pictures of the UT-CIS installation. It is relatively simple. Here is a picture of my car at New Jersey Motorsports Park. This 1987 930 currently holds the records for the most laps run on Thunderbolt Raceway and Lightning Raceway. With over 100,000 track miles, this 21 year old still holds its own.

Nice pic, but STILL no post-installation-Dyno-Run Graph??!!...
Come on, guys, just 1 person must have one?... |

A real keener might even have mileage data before and after and perhaps calculate a payback period for the install based on fuel savings. Let's put some scientific data behind this thing. A lot of us need this info so we can decide if buying a UTCIS-PT™ is the right thing to do.

I will order one and see for myself.
I am sure it will pay out very quick because of improved fuel mileage. Also the support for UTCIS seems to be very good. |

I know it's not in the dictionary but that is really what I did. I would really like to see how the afr changed.

My buddy did a dyno run after installing the digi-WUR a year or so ago. The problem is that AFR graphs on the dyno did not give exact numbers per point but rather a simple curve. That simple curve looked no different that any other good AFR curve, be it from a rebuilt WUR or EFI. You could not see detail more refined than +/- 0.2:1 AFR. For his needs that was just fine. He also had LM-1 data from tuning.

Brian,
Once fitted, did the 'curve' take a more ideal line (i.e. less of a 'big dipper' in the mid range)? Have you got a copy of this graph somewhere? ![]() Tom. |

Yes, the curve was very nice with no fuel dump. It is nit-picky though because both the digi-WUR and adjustable-WUR curves looked alike in that format.
I don't have any of the digi-WUR dyno graphs. The unit tested was a pre-production model and the agreement was proprietary. I tell you what would be a HUGE plus for digi-WUR and that would be the ability to adjust/compensate for air temp and desity. This is where the adjustable WUR becomes a mantenance item. It is static. Every spring and fall you tweak the mixture if you wish for it to be perfect all of the time.
