Since you guys did such a good job helping me redo my suspension and bank account last year (especially A930rocket and Craig 930 RS)..I figured who better to help me rebuild my motor!
The goal is a minimum of 400whp and dependabiltiy in car that is driven fairly often(about about 3-4K a year) and does 6-8 DEs a year. I am looking to stay with CIS as budget is a consideration. The car is modified as listed below and appears to have a bad ring as we speak, so will get rebuilt when the cold weather comes and my wrench is available. What I am looking for is the best dollar for dollar solution. When the engine comes out I am also planning for a Guards LS to be going in the open diff. tranny and the clutch will be replaced. Also have my buddy ready to do a repaint and install a full cage connected to suspension towers while everything is out. Suggestions welcome there as well. With the suspension, zork, cage, etc. the car is really becoming more of a "track car" that is driven on the street which I like just fine.

I don't think you'll need much help spending money, ha!
The 400WHP CIS formula is pretty easy and not terribly expensive parts wise. You already have most of what you need: BS Intercooler Headers Zork 1.0bar WG Adjustable WUR Now add: SC330 Cams Ported Heads K27HF or similar Turbo AFR Tuning Cam Timing Ignition Timing Results should be full boost before 2600rpm, 400WHP, 21+mpg @ 70mph/4th gear

Yep. Sure sounds like it's gonna be like my car!
So here ya go - 964 cams K27 HF Turbo **911 SC HEADS** Track days: You WILL need additional oil cooling - bank on it! AND get the AFRs spot on ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 400 at the wheels is yours!

Besides you guys did a bang up job designing my suspension!I am already looking at which spoiler/cooler setup I like. Think I might go with the IROC spoiler, we'll see.

I forgot to add that you will likely need additional fuel to support 400WHP, how much depends on a lot of things such as your choice of components and tuning. That will bear itself out when you check the AFRs on the top end.
There are lots of ways to get to 400WHP, what I have listed is one of the least expensive as it uses most of the parts you already have. The 7200 is still popular and has resale value.

Yes, the manufacturer of the K27 series turbos, Kevin, will rebuild your 7200 to Hf/S specs for $1K. I've spoken to him myself about that.

I'd sell the 7200 and buy a K27 HFS outright from Kevin - I believe you'll come out ahead $-wise. Ask Kevin: kevin@ultimatemotorwerks.com
Kevin lives near my house, great guy and the man for a turbo for your 930. As Brian and myself have mentioned on other posts, do all the things you wish, and *then* check/adjust your AFRs before getting the IA fuel head. Chances are you won't need it -

I'll second the 964 cams. I have them in my EFI car and they seem a little tame so they should be fine with CIS.

If the goal is 400WHP I would budget for added fueling. The break point seems to be somewhere around 375WHP depending on the mods.

Yep, additional cooling is a MUST - I have 3 oil coolers, and for track use it works well. 3.
You will need at least 2 ;-) Don't kid yourself. 2.

speeed racr, how much is your spare engine and what are the specs? I have been gathering components to build an engine, but it just might be easier to buy yours.

It appears thta my fuel head was modded already, we'll see when it comes off.
The HFS has been on my list for awhile, it sounds like most recommend it. I am looking at front spoilers and oil coolers and trying to decide what to get. I will run the 3 coolers and the oil cooler scoop that I replaced the side light with, so it should be fine.
