Thanks to all.
If any of you are interested or know someone who is interested to sell a RUF intercooler, please let me know. Meanwhile, I will wait for Petri's reply. |
Hi Carl,
I will be keeping the RUF IC. It makes my RUF conversion more complete. I pulled the 4 pipe RUF exhaust( it is in the garage) and put a B&B on the car. I am thinking about going back to the 4 pipe. The B&B has a harmonic at 70-80 mph that is a bit annoying on long drives. |
Not to hijack but with all the Ruf talk I have a Ruf five speed... with G50's around does it have any special value?
|
$5.00 and I'll take it. Realistically $10K + for the Ruf 5 sp. in good working condition.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I hear you on the g50's but I am fortunate to be in the SF Bay Area.. two major Porsche dismantlers here we are fortunate when it comes to parts for just about any 911. Though you are correct, all the air cooled stuff is becoming more and more scarce in a hurry. |
RUF Intercooler
Hi,
I am new to the forum and just saw this thread. I am interested to purchase a RUF 930 intercooler, so please contact me if any member is interested to sell. |
i get the long neck short neck confused.
i too have a RUF IC that i am using. if this helps, the IC attaches directly to the throttle body and the input to the IC has a RUF "up pipe" from the turbo and a rubber coupling from that to the turbo. i also have the RUF air filter assy. i have considered another IC, maybe a kokeln or maybe a full bay, not sure if want to get the AC working. my car is badged RUF but only has mods to the CIS, turbo,IC, header, muffler and front spoiler. mine is not as god a shape as the OP's. i have a small dent on the bottom from the coil. i put the coil back on too hi and pressed down on the IC and it hit the coil. |
Hi T77911S,
If you are interested in upgrading from your RUF intercooler, then I will buy it. I am sure that the dent will not affect its function. Let me know. |
Ruf IC and ...
I too have a partial "Ruf". It had a turbo and IC, among other parts fitted back in the day. The problem is the last owner, "upgraded" to a 964T IC ... I would like to "restore" it so a Ruf IC would be good. However they look to be unobtainium now!
What about the Ruf 5 speed? If anyone has one I could be tempted!! |

Ruf 5 Speed
Yes, well I would love to, but I must admit for 25 large, I think I could place my investment into something with slightly more return. That would pay for paint!! At half the price, which is dreaming these days I would make it work, somehow!

I would like to buy it..

I would like to buy it.

A NOS one sold for 8k $ to a guy in UAE two years ago. If you like to go stock a 964 factory IC it is the best upgrade and not pricey. Jim |
I have a 1988 Turbo 930 with a small RUF performance kit, missing a RUF Intercooler .
Does anyone has a used RUF intercooler to sell or trade? |
I would like to get one of these soon.
|
I have a used ruf intercooler I am willing to trade, it came from a 77 930 race car build by Hans Mandt ... the inlet pipe has been extended and welded to fit a 2' hose connection for turbo. It is in used condition ... some scratches on fins, but working fine, it has been running sebring and daytona at around 500whp back in 90's and 00's. I will get some pictures next time I have it out.

Looks good

I was offered 4k for mine the other day but decided to keep it, I love the look.
I do have the RUF air cleaner box that I would sell for $800 if needed. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1741602621.jpg |
