[QUOTE=crb07;12432583]What is the last asking price for a Ruf intercooler anyone has seen?
I would imagine you could CNC the design into a one for a lot cheaper. Unless you have to have an original.

I have a few pictures of mine (NFS) shown in post#40 of this thread if someone wants to try to draw this up for CNC and make them available again. For me, I like the look more than the money.

I'm looking for one of these too, or one made for a 930S/SE as they are basically the same. I have recently seen the new 930 intercooler from do88 in Sweden which looks just like the Ruf IC for $2,870 https://www.do88performance.com/en/artiklar/do88-performance-intercooler-long-neck-porsche-911-turbo-930.html

^^^Interesting...... DO88 says this will work with the stock air box. The RUF had a modified cut away airbox. Does this mean their intercooler is smaller?

From do88:

“As for the fitment, it is not smaller in terms of volume, but today´s technology allowed us to work the tanks to allow clearance. So it is not a copy, but inspired by the RUF one.“

This do88 intercooler has a long neck/964 design. Wasn't the Ruf intercooler a short-neck design, which retained the old shuttle valve, etc.?

The Ruf/930S intercooler was to my understanding a long neck. There are some older threads that get into it in more detail.

Thanks a ton for the information, I have been reading up on Hans Mandt since I purhcased the racecar back in 2014. It had a huge sticker in the rear saying "in memory of Hans Mandt". I got history back to 1980 and got to talk to the owner. He was a friend of Hans Mandt, owned the car since 1980 and he had Hans Mandt convert the 77 930 to a race car in 1995 when HM had HSM Racing. I still have the keys with his HSM logo on it. Maybe I should rather keep the IC

I was going through a cabinet in my office, you may or may not appreciate this.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1749605765.jpg

The Ruf is a nice piece of candy and was undoubtedly a good upgrade back in the day as compared to the stock IC's. I'm perfectly happy with my B&B, though. I would have to have other ruf-stuff on my car to justify going after such a coveted IC.

Thanks for sharing - Great picture :-)
The car also came with a key chain (leather) with the H.S.M. Racing on it :-)

The do88 intercooler does have that longer neck design, similar to the 964 style. If I recall correctly, the Ruf intercooler is indeed a short neck design that keeps the original shuttle valve and other components.
