Stay in budget! I almost wet myself on that one. That's like the Spanish Inquistion! No one expects to stay within budget.

Looks great however!!

i think the budget thing is a long shot, i get it, BUT, i have alot of "stock" (old parts from past builds), that i have been storing for times like these

to sell off as need be, which i am sure will help, so far so good

small update, sorry, it has been to cold to spend long amounts of time in the garage, and i am still waiting on alot of parts to arrive before i get building...

new clutch disc
new starter
rear shock tower kit (coilovers coming)
wevo joint )wevo shifter comes tomorrow

took the stock shifter apart and painted the base gloss black (this might change to flat black, the Wevo will be silver, so not sure how the gloss will go with it)

got my heating system apart and replaced that ****ty paper hose

CV joints are back together, new flanges will be here friday, picking up my transmission on friday

removed about three more wire harnesses
-sun roof
-warning buzzer
-seat belt light
-modified brake light harness to removed entire warning harness and retain brake lights
-still one more harness to remove

there is a ton of unused wiring in these cars.

Enjoying the progress... good job!

JIC, be sure the orientation of the CV assembly is correct, if not there is a 50/50 chance.

I really like what you did with the defrost and heater ducting, it gets rid of all the crap in the trunk. Will you have heat and defrost when you're finished?

I noticed you mentioned you can't find a CV flange. You may want to check into some of the off road part vendors. There are a ton of options for 930 CV parts in the off road world.

I think he will have some heat and defrost but not alot and only what is available from the engine cooling fan.

Older BMW 7 series lobro CV joint boot flanges are the same size and will work too. The dune buggy guys like them better because they have looser internal tolerances than 911 CV's and tolerate the increased axle to CV angles better.

EMPI makes low cost copies of lobro CV joints and CV boot flanges. You see them on ebay.
