Nice ride! Is it an EFI conversion and did you do it yourself? I ask cuz I'm working on one too...

Thanks for sharing & see at the track...JK:p

Yes Capt. I've follow your build on 6speed, VERY NICE WORK!

Nice. Real nice.

I like how more and more people are coming out of the woodwork drag racing their cars.

I get so tired of hearing how the 911/930 is not built for drag racing.

Awesome ride! Love it.

As I was reading your list, your crank is std. 3.3 and your using 98mm Pistons and Cylinders..

You are producing fantastic numbers-hp on a 3.3ltr engine. Am I correct?

If you used a 3.6 turbo crank with 98mm Pistons and Cylinders you would have 3.45ltr displacement...I believe

Congrats!!!

Nice! its a very fast 930, no doubt. best ive done to date is 11.3 at 127mph. cis and stock weight. Ive seen 130.1mph but only on a G-tec measuring device. jetjox....... top work mate.

It's a 3.4L with that combo, I like the 98's because they're thicker than the 100's and have the abilty to take more boost if one desired. I would have to guess that a major factor in making good numbers would be attributed to turbo technology? I'd love to test some of the latest Borg units that could out flow what I have.

That's the fastest cis 930 I've heard of? Sounds like you seriously have that thing dialed in? Making at least 480-500rwhp for that. What mods did you do for fuel control etc.. What turbo and combo on that build? Excellent!

Hi jetjox. I ran that time back in 2010. A few more mods since then but theres a post with pics and time slips on here under.. quarter mile results... I only did 2passes on the day but the chev boys were pretty shaken up let me say! Torched a blown 6litre holden monaro easy!!!

That is one seriously impressive build. The poor Vette guy had to be one depressed dude. Love it.

Awesome car. I just started on my engine rebuild and I'm getting excited.

Isn't you 6.8:1 compression ratio lower than stock? How does it drive off boost?

I thought with twin plugs and EFI it was safe to raise the compression ratio over the stock number.

I used to like higher static compression for the off boost power but in reality I never noticed much difference, however the payoff is being able to run higher boost levels which far offset the minor power loss of low compression. This combo has very little lag and such strong midrange that I will never build one of these over 7 to 1 again. I had to valve relief the heads which pulled some of the compression back. It's very nice having the safety protection of lower compression.

Thanks for the info. Are your heads using stock sized valves or have they been opened up?

Valves are stock size, but the heads are ported and I flowed them on a Super Flow bench. They didn't flow hugh numbers but enough to get the job done. The numbers are similar to a 3.2 head but a little better. Ports aren't too big and with the stock valve sizing for good low end torque

Bravo!...reads very similar to my build except I have higher stat compression 8:1 and running only .8Bar now...would like to put in variable boost controller to kick in from 3rd - 5th. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1326501055.jpg

Very nice! I have a Greddy controller and it works well, but there's another type that was developed for turbo motorcycles that is much more simplistic and has staged adjustibilty. It's less money, works better and much less $$

drmatera 01-18-2012 08:20 PM

jetjox, nice to see another 930 kicking ass on the drag strip. Your power numbers are right where I want to be. did you mention how much boost your were running on the 137mph pass?

I am also glad to hear the EVO cams are working great, I have a set on the shelf for my build.

Damn we really have to do a get together for us florida boys. lots of cool 930's coming out of the woodwork

forte500 01-18-2012 08:25 PM

Jetjox, what is the name of the controller you recommend?

drmatera 01-18-2012 08:28 PM

sounds like he is speaking of the AMS500 or 1000. Sebastian from NLR ( the maker of those products) has gone over 200mph on his turbocharged bike with NO WHEELIE bar
