Carrera 3.2 w/3.4 Max Moritz/Mahle P&C's 7.5:1 CR running 1-bar from a T60-1 Turbonetics.
55lb injectors and custom chip from Protomotive. Heads, intake, cams, etc., stock C3.2. Stock G-50 with KEP stg II PP with Kevlar disk. Tial 48mm(?) WG w/1.625 primaries, 2.25 secondaries IIRC headers. No boost until 5500 RPM in 1st gear, reason for slow ET's of 12.40. |

Yes back pressure is often overlooked. The little T3 wheel was giving me 40psi (and climbing) exhaust pressure at 12psi of boost. All was fine till 4500 rpm then the pressure skyrocketed. It showed on the dyno as well. It made 345rwhp no matter how much boost or timing we threw at it. The S262 has a T3 inlet but a wheel sized similar to a Q trim T4. I have not had time to do back pressure testing but at 17psi she made 450rwhp. Stock 3.3 engine with Carrera intake

Update, finally trying E85 fuel. I will be tuning it on the dyno prob tomorrow, any advice from experienced e85 tuners out there. I added 35% across the map and it's running real well. Actually the fuel is Ignite fuel ethanol based. I know it's going to make some good numbers.

what you'll find is big torque increases in the 2500-4500rpm range under WOT by adding some timing in a little at a time. I go in 2* increments. Peak timing can be increased as well but I don't think you'll need to be much over 26* at full boost.
Can't want to see the numbers.. My bet is an increase of atleast 60hp

Well, I rolled it tonight and quickly found that 1000CC injectors are not going to cut it. I installed a 1 bar spring and it's really making 1.2 bar. The duty cycle went over 90% past 6100 rpm, af was too lean so i shut it down. Didn't bother optimizing the low end numbers since new injectors are in the calling. The fuel I'm using is 114 Ignite and might contain more than 85% ethanol? Judging by what I saw the numbers are going to be big...

Hey Joe what is the scoop on the fuel lab fuel pumps? I have twin 044 pumps on the car. Instead of adding a third I might go for their 1800hp pump to have cushion on ethanol

What kind of starter are you running? I did not know there were lightweight versions...

I should have it on the dyno within the next couple of days? I've had to modify the fuel rails and should be ready tomorrow? I'll tune it on the street first and then get it on the dyno for power pulls.

Got the new injectors in today and pressure tested the system, checked good. Now I'm doing the new program and tomorrow will begin the tuning. Hopefully I'll get it on the dyno later in the afternoon, after I work the drivibilty tune and cold starts etc etc... Keep you guys posted.

Well, I finally got around to tuning the big injectors using Ignite fuel. I was having problems with miss fireing. It ran pretty good under light loads but when I put some boost on it, well I had the missing. I checked everything and all look ok, so I pulled all the plugs. The plugs did not look too good, having a fair amount of run time on them. I changed them out and took the car out for some street tuning and after working on the fuel map the car runs great. No misses at all and feels very strong, hopefully I can get on the dyno tomorrow and compare my numbers?
