Why would you attempt to perform a partial engine drop to remove the air cleaner and CIS? That's like performing brain surgery to cure a headache. All that stuff comes out easily with the engine in the car.
Even if you end up dropping the engine and transaxle out to do something like replace the sound pad, it's pretty simple to do; it's not the pain in the butt like dropping the powertrain on a 964 Turbo is (power steering and hydraulic clutch to deal with).

Time taken to drop engine = under 60 seconds Also needed to check that all the lines are secure, had to check as i undid 60 percent of vacuum lines that i could reach with no tools, fingers only, so it was important Secondly need to clean, replace anything wrong Thirdly cos i F#%$ing wanted to!

Sometimes comments are made without reading the original question as in this case..
Ive never lowered an engine before, Uncle pointed out it was only two bolts. Then a comment was made about it being difficult and likened it to brain surgery? Id hate to change a tire then,Will i need a 4 year Degree for that? Secondly My reply ended with a smiley... A smiley indicates the writers view/emotion at time of writing.. Ill explain This means COOL, meaning Im Cool Hope you now understand the context. <------( Thats a grin cos im finding your post even funnier.

Funny how I find myself posting less and less over here due to incivility and the constant d**k measuring contests.

First thing I thought when I read the post was why the f**k would you want to lower the engine to take off the air box.
![]() Obviously I wasn't the only one. You got an appropriate response given the question asked. There are allot of incredibly knowledgeable and talented people (fewer all the time) here that take the time to answer our questions. Seems to me that's the case here. That's your thanks? Not so IMHOA little humility goes along way

I get the impression that Robbbyg is a very young man - the latest and greatest generation - and while attending his classes in "cockiness", missed his classes in "good manners".

Lowering the engine give alot more room to work and takes abouts 60 seconds as Robby found out. I guess just loosen the rear engine mounts will do it.
I did NOT think Robby was rude or didn`t show enough respect to the elders here. He was clearly joking and having a good mood is 10 times better than having this "kiss my hand like the pope" act before someone answers. Everyone has asked "stupid" or easy questions that others disagree with, help out or just don`t bother. That is what this forum is for!!!! I see this all the time and really gets to me. Smile! Answer the best you can! Open a beer!!!! |
