Happy holidays, to all P lovers,
I just finished a ring job on my 3.4 Mahle Motorsport p&c engine. For the first time in a long time I have a leak free engine YEAH!! Install 965 intercooler, with C2 blowoff valve and modified turbo, K26 housing with K27or 29 internals I think and early 928/965 CIS injectors. When the engine warms up I hear the turbo whistling all the time. Is this because of the C2 setup? It didnt make that noise with the standard slide valve. At idle 800rpm it feels rough, though the needs looks smooth and little throttle and it smooths out. Also it quickly runs to overboost. I must pay attention to the boost gauge more than ever before, and I must shift a lot quicker. The tach now moves like a NA engine. I replaced my modified wastegate banjo bolt the one the runs to the intercooler which made the car more drivable. Should I have replaced the dump one too?Are how do i know the blow-off valve is set-up properly? Am I on a slippery slope? Thanks,

Assuming you have no vacuum or air leaks, you may want to check your timing and your fuel pressure or fuel flow, to address your rough idle. Also, I think 800 RPM may be on the low side for idle speed. I think you want about 950 RPM for idle.

thanks for the advise. I know the timing is on and new 044 fuel pump. It already blew of the hose bands at the intercooler several times. I check them and the plugs I made for the pipes on the manifolds.

On the over boost issue, you may have a leaky waste gate diaphragm.
Did you source your rings locally in JP or US? I ask because I have the same P/C and I'm having trouble finding the right rings.

I will check the diaphram. i got the rings from True Seal via EBS Racing. The rings are incredible. So much stronger and better quality than the originals. My mechanic here said they are like Benz rings.

Thanks PrimeMvr you were right. The wastegate boot was old and cracked. I ordered one from our host. Christmas gift come late.
