It would be possible for a good quality wire wound potentiometer that can handle some wattage to work and control voltage to our WUR and adjust the WCP from the cockpit, place it on the dash, much like 964 dimmer switch.. so it would look like a Porsche part and it can be wired up to the dash for a stock look... I might just do that
This would not work like an on and off switch, The WUR would work as designed, and by adjusting the voltage the WUR would still function like normal even at a lower voltage setting it would not work instantly on the fly because of the engine bay temps.....ideally you would have your WCP set to the high end of you WUR settings , something like 3.85 bar, at 12 volts or so, 12 + volts would be the starting point on the adjustable voltage reg and by lowering the voltage it drop the WCP much like doing it manually but from the comfort of your cockpit. But you can only lower the WCP which would make you car run richer... Just saying I would not be looking for on the automatic adjustment , because the WUR would still have full function like normal, even at a lower voltage setting, or adjustment on the fly, which can be done , I think it would be great when I'm on the track for 30 to 40 minutes at time.....on a race weekend, but the point being is by controlling the voltage to control our WCP value with a knob is a much easier than having to stopping the car and adjusting the WUR, and the GREAT part is the would no modification needed to our WUR's . people have no problem to suggest using a add on Control Valve on the vacuum side of the WUR to control the onset boost , so that WUR doesn't go to full rich at a lower RPM, but its taboo to add a voltage potentiometer......... I really think this would work, __________________

The Frequency Control Valve that is used by Bosch on the KE Jetronic is not linear, so I think you will not be happy with a pot. You will turn it a little, nothing, more, nothing, more, large jump. It is really designed only for PWM. There are numerous ways to run it as a PWM though ...

I know nothing about WUR's and how the CIS (really) works, but reading the other thread about this the other day, it struck me that a better solution than trying to find a potentiometer that will handle the electrical load, would be to use (say) an 8-position rotary switch instead. Connected to the contacts of the switch would be a resistor bridge, using high wattage resistors, and chosen using suitable values that could either give you a linear increase in resistance/decrease in voltage, or, as Speedy mentions above, if a non-linear response is needed, then you can choose the individual resistors to give you that.
It'd also give you a completely repeatable setting, as well as being less prone to "accidental adjustment" (BTW, this is what I'll be using for my traction control and boost (amal valve) control on my EFI conversion)

I understand what you want the gizmo to do but do not understand the need. If the WUR is set up correctly there is no adjustment necessary. Are you wanting to have 2 different full boost AFR settings; one for the street and one for the track? I would prefer to do that with a boost controller. Leave the AFR alone and lower the boost level on the track where everything runs hot and you are on boost longer periods of time.
