Matching number Interior

Restoring the interior of my 930 and just found out Vin codes are grease pen on all interior panels as well as the doors. and even the pockets and top rails

anyone know the dash signature?

That's the production number and not the chassis number / VIN.

My '75 Turbo's interior has a inked (or paper tagged) production number on every leather interior piece. Porsche 911s of the same vintage also had grease pencil production number under the dash pad and on the doors but rarely on interior pieces.

I had a soft window with the vin in grease pencil on the soft window boot. Seen it written on the backs of 1960s door panels. That signature on the dash below the numbers 963 is usually the guy that painted the car.

Here is one of my 1976 930 Turbo Carrera's

The number is a production number, NOT the Vin of the car. Cars went through assembly with production numbers and once complete, a VIN was assigned.

In the case of my car and numbers below, here is the code:

1 – 911/930
0 – Coupe
6 – 1976
3692 – Tub number
