Mine stuck in reverse. The car would move backwards but when I selected a forward gear I could stall the engine. The transmission was locked.

I pulled the inspection plate at the tunnel and could see the shift rod had about 3/8" of exposed clean metal on the spline shaft indicating the shift coupler had lost its grip on the rod.

After adjusting the tunnel shift rod and tightened the coupler again. Problem solved
