So the key questions are:
1. Why do you want to stick with the S2 turbocharger? It produces less power than the S1, runs out of boost sooner. If you have any inclination of adding power (e.g., by using a boost controller to increase boost pressure, adding an intercooler, adding water-meth injection, etc.), then it would be silly to stay with the S2 unit. S1 would be better choice.
2. If you're going to go the considerable trouble of removing the turbocharger, why would you trust a used turbocharger? Replacing the turbocharger is a significant challenge. Even if you were to purchase one of my used units (regardless of S1 or S2) ... or anyone else's for that matter ... I couldn't in good conscience advocate for installing it without having it professionally rebuilt.
