outer CV boot replacement - secret handshakes?

I'd done my inner boots when I had my motor out, and have been DREADING this day since I got the car a meelyun years ago - outer boot has gaping hole (think: Ronknees gape!!!).

Pretty certain I caught it right away, there's not a drip of grease thrown out of it yet - phew.

I've searched a few threads on the 911 tech forum but figured I'd ask my bestest budz here - how do you guru's like to tackle an outer boot on your 930? Have to pull the whole axle?

Any insight bra-clasp secret handshakes appreciated.

Found the hole (!!!!) whilst under there locating my massive fuel leak - burst a line... pulling into my driveway! Talk about great luck - I'll take it! Geesh. Right onto steaming hot header - f'n SPOOKY!

Len's dropping me off a new line tomorrow - how cool is he?

Stoooooopid banana arm has an upright 'edge' on top that's sharp and when the car is lowered back to the ground the fuel line rubbed against it and perf'd. Awesome. I must have routed the line wrong back when I'd installed Len's main tunnel lines - sigh.

anywho..........
