Marv, I actually don't know but judging by the price and what the op described and base on my own experience, it doesn't sound bad. Out here, it would have cost him 8-900 bucks, depending on the size of the shower.

Sometimes certain stone get pitted over time with just simple water, so it must be filled and resurfaced to achieve that clean stone look again. Not cheap.
