Garage
Sienna Metallic 436

Hello Everyone:
This is my first post here. I have not been part of an automotive forum in 16 years, so please, bear with me. I restore my own cars, and can never seem to resist giving them personalities through modifications. Those I do myself too, sometimes with off-the-shelf stuff, sometimes custom fabrications. I just recently became a Porsche owner, having purchased a 1980 911 SC with my best friend last spring, and a second one, all mine, a 1977 911s in october last year. The 1977 is quite the basket case, having been converted into a slant nose and of course, painted guards red. I got it after being left in a garage for 14 years and had an advanced rodent civilization living in it, so it will take a while before it sees the street in anger again. It will be turned into a turbo look car, since taking the flares off "forces" me to take the easy way out. When I bought it, I ordered the COA, and to my surprise, its original color is Sienna Metallic, Porsche 436 (also known as Sarah Diamant). It will be returned to that color. I have downloaded about 110 pictures from the internet, (yes, OCD ravages me), and the variations in tone are, to say the least, dramatic. The paint code and formula for PPG and Dupont are different, and I will ask my friendly paint supplier for a sample, but I would like to request members of this forum to show me their cars in the color, and specify which brand of paint they used, and how the brown, pink, copper, orange and red all come out in different lighting. I like to zero in on my concepts before I start a car, and that takes TIME. I have one car ahead in line before getting to this one, but I'm already loosing sleep over it. I would like to get to know most or, if possible, all of the sienna metallic owners out there. Most of all, as I'm sure some others do, would like to get to establish friendships with people who can make this experience more enjoyable.

Thank you for reading my loooong post.
