If the key turns in the cylinder then the shaft going from the key cilinder to the lock mechanism is disconnected. Neither of my doors would lock and after i investigated by taking the door panel off i found out the horizontal shaft on the driver side was out of the slot.

On the passenger side the shaft wsa in the door locking slot but a tiny pin fell out where the horizontal shaft attaches to the door handle.
