I'm certainly no expert but I believe the wires are put through the loops before the ends are crimped. Otherwise I see no way to fit them. Since I bought wires already made, I went with MSD holders on my car. They work well and look good if you are not a stickler for originality. Here's a picture of my engine right after I rebuilt it which shows the holders I used:
