That's been my experience too -- they either lie about it, or they look in the same computer that I'm looking at. I've occasionally had smaller hardware stores look, but never at the Big Box stores.
Love the In-Store map, though. I'd be incredibly thrilled if my local grocery store would do the same. I can't tell you how much time I've wasted looking for some random food item. Even things that are staples are scattered randomly around the store, or they shuffle things from time to time.
But I'm told that grocery stores intentionally DON'T make maps so you spend more time wandering through the store, and potentially buying things.
