On Line In-Store Maps
I will be doing some grocery shopping today (wife had a stroke and can't drive) and need an air line tee and a pressure gauge as I received my 400,000 RPM wood carver setup yesterday. The manual and videos say to use 50# air pressure for best results and I have a gauge at the tank but not at the end of my 50 foot hose. So I figured since I will be next door to a Lowes I looked and they have one in stock AND they have a map of the store to tell me where it is located! That is some pretty nice web programming and since they only have one in stock I hope it is not sold before I can get there?
They also show a garage air line kit for about $30 so I might just get that so I can plug the carver in and not have to drag my hose around the garage? I have seen several posts on here of guys doing that but in the past my race car and all need for air was outside but not any longer. |

I would phone and have them check inventory physically retrieve it for you.

I used to do that all the time but in most cases the person in that department takes FOREVER to get to the phone then in most cases says "yeah we got it in about 10 or 15 seconds" so unless they are superman they never got to that area...........................

That's been my experience too -- they either lie about it, or they look in the same computer that I'm looking at. I've occasionally had smaller hardware stores look, but never at the Big Box stores.
Love the In-Store map, though. I'd be incredibly thrilled if my local grocery store would do the same. I can't tell you how much time I've wasted looking for some random food item. Even things that are staples are scattered randomly around the store, or they shuffle things from time to time. But I'm told that grocery stores intentionally DON'T make maps so you spend more time wandering through the store, and potentially buying things.

Thats is so true. Once in a while I ask for help, of course only after walking the isles at least twice.

Sorry to hear about your wife's stroke John, hope her recovery continues and she is able to get close to her former self!
Those in store maps seem a real time saver, haven't tried one yet. Cheers Richard |

Home Depot, you can enter an order on-line and have it pulled and ready to go when you arrive.

Home Depot also list the aisle location for products. It gets you quite close.

I generally go to Lowes, even though there are two Home Depot stores close by. Mainly because both Home Depots look like a Dollar Store in Tijuana the day after a Mexican Independence Day Sale! They also grumble about giving me the 10% military discount but Lowes is always happy about it and most times ask me what the heck a "CPO" is as on my ID card? Then I tell the cashier I was a "nuclear machinist" and it makes their head spin!
My wife is doing pretty good but our doctor said no more driving for her. She once owned the 1987 930 we cruzed around in! |
