I finally got my subs into my car..... I had them in a factory box for the longest time.....just sliding around in the hatch....
I originally planned to put them in the side compartments....but checking size and ....my cell phone harness being backthere...and my emergency tire repair kit....I opted to throw it in the spare tire well....
I don't carry a spare just an emergency kit.
I managed to put two 10" subs in the spare wheel compartment/ and Amplifier.....flush with the floor and the carpet goes right over them.....it fits like a glove!
This provides enough bass for me....The spare wheel compartment...actually provides the cubic inches needed for proper reflective bass...(damn close anyways)......
I had phoenix gold subs....but I blew my home stereo 10" speakers so I three them into my home speakers...and bought some cheap sony ones for now.....Frankly they sound just as good as my phoenix.....so I think I will keep them in.
I am running two 10 inch subs, 600 watt kenwood amp (took out of my truck), pioneer components in the rear and ......Blaupunkt 4x6 in the front. Alpine Head Unit with 60w x 4.........All panels intact!
I Just thought someone out there may be interested in putting in a sound system in a 944......frankly....it is one of the toughest cars to keep stock looking with out ripping the panels to fit speakers!!
